Welcome to the website for pianist, Dr. Robert D. Carney.



Dr. Robert D. Carney is an active soloist, chamber musician, and educator with recitals throughout the US and in Europe. Carney’s students have been prizewinners in state, regional, and international competitions. As a pedagogue, his current research focuses on using Web-based instruction for facilitating independent learning. He has presented this research in Europe, Canada, and the US for conferences hosted by the Music Teachers National Association, European Association for Music in Schools, World Piano Conference, College Music Society, National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and others. Carney has degrees from the University of North Texas (DMA) and Louisiana State University (MM) and has studied at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival. Carney is currently Professor of Music at Southwest Baptist University where he teaches piano and immediate past president of the Missouri Music Teachers Association.
