Composition Contest for Student Affiliates

NOTE: To participate in the composition contest, you have to be a student affiliate member.

ALSO: You MUST pass the theory test in order to participate in this event.

With this activity you can write your own composition and then send it in to be judged. You may also win a prize! There are two levels to this activity: local and state.

LOCAL LEVEL

If your piece is awarded a "I" or "II" rating, you will perform your piece on the awards recital!

DEADLINE: Submit your composition by October 29th, 2007 (received by)

FEES: $15

AWARDS RECITAL: January, 12th, 2008, 10:30 a.m.; Mr. E's Music

STATE LEVEL

If your piece was performed locally, you are elligible for the state contest!

DEADLINE: Submit your composition by January 12th, 2008

FEES: $10 (solo), $15 (ensemble)

AWARDS RECITAL: If you receive a "I" rating, you must perform your piece at the State Convention in Houston (June 13-15). At the recital you will receive a trophy (and maybe even a cash award!).
